Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Yakware, Ltd (United Kingdom) is the data controller for yaktimer.com. Contact: support@yakware.com.
2. What we collect
Account details (name, email, company, timezone); the working data you record (time entries, clients, projects, tasks, rates, expenses, receipts, invoices and payments); and basic technical data needed to run and secure the service (IP addresses, browser information, and logs of sign-ins and key actions).
3. Why we process it (lawful bases)
To provide the service you signed up for (contract); to keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest); to meet accounting and tax obligations (legal obligation); and, only with your consent, to send product news — every such email has an unsubscribe link.
4. Who we share it with
Only the processors needed to operate YakTimer: European hosting providers, Stripe and PayPal (payments), Mailgun (transactional email), and YakDocs — our own service — for document generation. We do not sell personal data. With your Product Analytics consent, configured analytics and advertising measurement services (including Microsoft Advertising UET) receive technical identifiers and signup, product-use and purchase events to measure our advertising and improve the service. We do not send your time-entry notes, client names, expense details or receipt contents to advertising services. Session Replay is a separate optional consent choice and uses masked form values. You can change these choices through Help. Declining them does not prevent using YakTimer.
SMS / mobile messaging
If you enable SMS verification, we use your mobile number only to send one-time verification codes and account/security notifications. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
5. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies for sign-in and security, and an optional consent choice for anything beyond that. Your consent choices are shown on first visit and can be changed at any time.
6. Retention and deletion
Your data is kept while your account is active. When you delete your account (or ask us to), working data is removed within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons. Backups expire on a rolling schedule. See request account deletion for the request process.
7. Your rights
Under UK and EU data protection law you can request access, correction, export, restriction or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email support@yakware.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the ICO or your local supervisory authority.
8. International transfers
Our primary working-data hosting is in Europe. Where a processor operates outside the UK/EEA, transfers are protected by standard contractual clauses.
